ABSTRAK
Pengujian ekstrak etanol daun ubi jalar (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Poir.) dan herba
pegagan (Centella asiatica (L.) Urb.) terhadap jumlah trombosit, eritrosit, dan
kadar hematokrit telah diteliti pada tikus putih jantan galur wistar (Rattus
novergicus) dengan metode induksi heparin. Ekstrak diberikan secara oral selama
7 hari berturut-turut, dosis ekstrak etanol daun ubi jalar dan ekstrak etanol herba
pegagan yang diberikan yaitu masing-masing 250 mg/kgBB dan 500 mg/kgBB.
Pengamatan terhadap parameter-parameter tersebut dilakukan pada hari ketujuh
dengan menggunakan alat Hematology analyzer sysmex XE-5000. Hasil penelitian
terhadap jumlah trombosit menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol herba pegagan
pada dosis 500 mg/kgBB memiliki perbedaan nyata terhadap kontrol negatif pada
taraf nyata α=0,05 dengan persentase peningkatan jumlah trombosit sebesar
36,02% terhadap kontrol negatif. Hasil penelitian terhadap jumlah eritrosit dan
kadar hematokrit menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun ubi jalar dosis 500
mg/kgBB dan ekstrak etanol herba pegagan dosis 500 mg/kgBB memiliki
perbedaan nyata terhadap kontrol negatif pada taraf nyata α=0,05 dimana
peningkatan jumlah eritrosit yang paling besar yaitu ekstrak etanol daun ubi jalar
dosis 500 mg/kgBB dengan persentase peningkatan jumlah eritrosit sebesar
10,95% terhadap kontrol negatif, dan peningkatan kadar hematokrit yang paling
besar yaitu ekstrak etanol daun ubi jalar dosis 500 mg/kgBB dengan persentase
peningkatan kadar hematokrit sebesar 9,08% terhadap kontrol negatif.

ABSTRACT
The aim of this research was to determine the effects of ethanol extracts of sweet
potato leaves (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Poir.) and pegagan herb (Centella asiatica
(L.) Urb.) against the number of thrombocytes, erythrocytes, and hematocrit
levels on male white rats (Rattus novergicus ) by using Heparin Induction
Method. Extracts was given orally for 7 continous days, the sweet potato leaves
ethanol extract and the pegagan herb ethanol extract dosages used are 250
mg/kgBW and 500 mg/kgBW. Observation of the parameters was tested on the
seventh day with using Hematology analyzer sysmex XE-5000. The results showed
that the rats group which are given ethanol extract of pegagan herb 500
mg/kgBW dosage gave a significant differences in numbers of thrombocytes
against negative control group (α=0.05) with a percentage value 36.02%. The
rats group which are given ethanol extract of sweet potato leaves 500 mg/kgBW
dosage and ethanol extract of pegagan herb 500 mg/kgBW dosage gave a
significant differences in numbers of erythrocytes and hematocrit levels against
negative control group (α=0.05). Sweet potato leaves extract at dosage 500
mg/kgBW gave the highest effect in increasing rats eyithrocytes number against
negative control with a percentage value 10.95%. Sweet potato leaves extract at
dosage 500 mg/kgBW gave the highest effect in increasing rats hematocrit levels
against negative control with a percentage value 9,08%.
