Muhammad Zahid Abdul Aziz holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from University of Exeter, United Kingdom. After graduating in 1977, he joined Arthur Young & Co., London Office. He joined Arab Malaysian Merchant Bank Kuala Lumpur in 1992 and later joined Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB) in 1990 where he pioneered and helped develop Islamic Corporate Banking specializing in Islamic Syndications and Sukuk Issuance. He left BIMB in 2000 to form Muamalah Financial Consulting Sdn Bhd., an Islamic Financial and Capital Market Consultancy, Training and Shariah Advisory company. The Company is licensed by the Securities Commission of Malaysia as Shariah Adviser for Sukuk and Islamic Unit Trusts. From 2006 to 2009, he was based in Riyadh as Head of InvestmentBanking/Sukuk Origination for Al Bilad Investment Company Ltd, a CMA licensed wholly owned subsidiary of Saudi Arabia's Bank Al Bilad, after which he returned to Malaysia to resume his position at Muamalah Financial Consulting. Zahid is presently a post-graduate student in Islamic Finance at IIUM, Malaysia whilst also being a renowned international lecturer in the subject having also taught in Dubai, Korea, Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei. His areas of expertise and the courses he conducts include, Sukuk, Islamic Capital Market, Islamic Equity Instruments, Islamic Corporate Financing, Fundamental Muamalat, Islamic Asset Backed Securitisation, Islamic Stockbroking, Islamic Legal Documents, Islamic Financing Restructure, Takaful and Islamic Economics.

ISHRAT RAUFF

Ishrat Rauff is the holder of an Honours degree in Civil Engineering from Imperial College of Science & Technology, London. He obtained his Associateship of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, UK and possesses a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Melbourne Business School, University of Melbourne. Ishrat counts over twenty years in the financial industry in areas as diverse as Stock broking, Corporate Credit, Foreign Exchange Trading, Treasury Management, Fund Management and Investment Banking. Having commenced his career in at an international bank, he currently specialises in the field of Islamic Finance, having spent over a decade in the industry. Ishrat has been responsible for the start-up of three companies within the Amana group of companies, which pioneered Islamic Finance in Sri Lanka and has served in the capacity of Founder-CEO in these organisations. He has previously held the post of Managing Director of Amana Securities Ltd., a Trading Member of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) and Vidullanka PLC, a company listed on the CSE. He is currently the Managing Director/CEO of Adl Capital Limited, which is licensed by the Securities & Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka as a Market Intermediary and also serves on the boards of several other companies.

M T Nilamdeen is a Senior Vice President of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), which is one of the largest Islamic Bank in the world. He has held several senior positions mainly in the financial sector in a career that has spanned over 30 years. These included stints at American Express Bank, National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Union Bank of Colombo. Nilamdeen holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Karachi, which is an affiliate of the University of Southern California (USA). During his working career, he has been responsible for the setting up of several divisions and the introduction of new products at the institutions that he has served. These include various innovations in the field of Islamic Banking & Finance.

Prior to this, he was Senior Vice President/Head of International Banking and Head of Investment Banking at Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad. He has also served previously as the first Chief Executive Officer of the International Islamic Financial Market (IIFM), an international organization based in Bahrain, which was established as a standard setting body to issue guidelines and promote the creation and global trading of Islamic capital market instruments. Mr. Abdul Rais has more than thirty-five years experience in the financial sector and has served in various international locations, with Bank Bumiputra Malaysia Berhad, (now CIMB Bank.) including its New York branch and subsequently as Chief Executive Officer of BBMB International Bank (L) Ltd and CEO of BBMB International Trust Limited in Labuan International Offshore Financial Centre. Mr. Abdul Rais has presented a number of papers on Islamic capital markets and risk management at international conferences in London, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha, Jeddah Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Brunei and other locations. Prior to this, he was Senior Vice President/Head of International Banking and Head of Investment Banking at Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad. He has also served previously as the first Chief Executive Officer of the International Islamic Financial Market (IIFM), an international organization based in Bahrain, which was established as a standard setting body to issue guidelines and promote the creation and global trading of Islamic capital market instruments. Mr. Abdul Rais has more than thirty-five years experience in the financial sector and has served in various international locations, with Bank Bumiputra Malaysia Berhad, (now CIMB Bank.) including its New York branch and subsequently as Chief Executive Officer of BBMB International Bank (L) Ltd and CEO of BBMB International Trust Limited in Labuan International Offshore Financial Centre. Muhammad Zahid Abdul Aziz holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from University of Exeter, United Kingdom. After graduating in 1977, he joined Arthur Young & Co., London Office. He joined Arab Malaysian Merchant Bank Kuala Lumpur in 1992 and later joined Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB) in 1990 where he pioneered and helped develop Islamic Corporate Banking specializing in Islamic Syndications and Sukuk Issuance. He left BIMB in 2000 to form Muamalah Financial Consulting Sdn Bhd., an Islamic Financial and Capital Market Consultancy, Training and Shariah Advisory company. The Company is licensed by the Securities Commission of Malaysia as Shariah Adviser for Sukuk and Islamic Unit Trusts. From 2006 to 2009, he was based in Riyadh as Head of InvestmentBanking/Sukuk Origination for Al Bilad Investment Company Ltd, a CMA licensed wholly owned subsidiary of Saudi Arabia's Bank Al Bilad, after which he returned to Malaysia to resume his position at Muamalah Financial Consulting. Zahid is presently a post-graduate student in Islamic Finance at IIUM, Malaysia whilst also being a renowned international lecturer in the subject having also taught in Dubai, Korea, Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei. His areas of expertise and the courses he conducts include, Sukuk, Islamic Capital Market, Islamic Equity Instruments, Islamic Corporate Financing, Fundamental Muamalat, Islamic Asset Backed Securitisation, Islamic Stockbroking, Islamic Legal Documents, Islamic Financing Restructure, Takaful and Islamic Economics.

Ishrat Rauff is the holder of an Honours degree in Civil Engineering from Imperial College of Science & Technology, London. He obtained his Associateship of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, UK and possesses a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Melbourne Business School, University of Melbourne. Ishrat counts over twenty years in the financial industry in areas as diverse as Stock broking, Corporate Credit, Foreign Exchange Trading, Treasury Management, Fund Management and Investment Banking. Having commenced his career in at an international bank, he currently specialises in the field of Islamic Finance, having spent over a decade in the industry. Ishrat has been responsible for the start-up of three companies within the Amana group of companies, which pioneered Islamic Finance in Sri Lanka and has served in the capacity of Founder-CEO in these organisations. He has previously held the post of Managing Director of Amana Securities Ltd., a Trading Member of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) and Vidullanka PLC, a company listed on the CSE. He is currently the Managing Director/CEO of Adl Capital Limited, which is licensed by the Securities & Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka as a Market Intermediary and also serves on the boards of several other companies.

Abdul Rais Abdul Majid is Director/CEO, AssetCell Capital Sdn. Bhd, He also serves as Associate Director to Muamalah Financial Consulting. Prior to this, he was Senior Vice President/Head of International Banking and Head of Investment Banking at Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad. He has also served previously as the first Chief Executive Officer of the International Islamic Financial Market (IIFM), an international organization based in Bahrain, which was established as a standard setting body to issue guidelines and promote the creation and global trading of Islamic capital market instruments. Mr. Abdul Rais has more than thirty-five years experience in the financial sector and has served in various international locations, with Bank Bumiputra Malaysia Berhad, (now CIMB Bank.) including its New York branch and subsequently as Chief Executive Officer of BBMB International Bank (L) Ltd and CEO of BBMB International Trust Limited in Labuan International Offshore Financial Centre. Mr. Abdul Rais has presented a number of papers on Islamic capital markets and risk management at international conferences in London, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha, Jeddah Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Brunei and other locations.
