Tunku Abdul Rahman

First Prime Minister of Malaysia

Biodata

1933= Tunku married Mariam, A woman of mixed chinese-siam in Alor Setar.He blessed with two children , A son name Tunku Ahmad Nerang Putra and his daughter name Tunku Khadijah.

1934= After the death of Mariam, Tunku married to Violet Coulson, Former host of England. Among his marriage witness in Geylang Serai, Singapore is Syed Ahmad Al Sagoff.

1939= Tunku later married Sharifah Rodziah Syed Alwi Barakbah, is the younger brother Syed Omar Barakbah. They take three adoption of Faridah , Sulaiman and Mariam.

1963= Tunku also had married a chinese woman with a secret and had two children named Tunku Noor Hayati and Tunku Mastura.

1949= Tunku officer on duty at the offices of law in Alor Setar. He then asked to move to Kuala Lumpur and he was the deputy Prosecutor and appointed the President of the Court Section.

1951= UMNO crisis forced the mayor to resign and Tunku Onn appointed as the new President. He held the post for 20 years.

Political Career

1954= Tunku led a group of representatives to London to secure the independence of Malaya but to no avail.

1955= Was a coalition UMNO with MCA won 51 of 52 seats it contested.

1955= Tunku to London to negotiate about the independence of Malaya. This time, He managed and august 31 1957 was decided as the date Independence.

Path Independence

• After Independence1959 and 1964 Tunku mendominasikan political of Malaya and lead party engagement to big win in the choice of Public Highway.• 1963Malaysia formation is one of the proposals of the greatest achievements Tunku.• September 16 1963Federal states except Brunei and he became the first Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Conference organization and establish Islamic Development Bank is also President “Regional Islamic Da’wah council of Southeast Asia and the Pacific.

Islamic Activities

1987Later Tunku support spirit 46 which is UMNO splinter group led by Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.

• 1990He campaigned actively for the Spirit of 46 in the 1990 General Election.

Later Life

December 6 1990He was treated in Hospital Kuala Lumpur. He died at age 87. Remains taken to his home in the hills Tunku and Buried in a Royal Tomb Violated, Alor Setar.
