“Perubahan yang besar dan ketara sekali dengan pengenalan Bru-HIMS ini ialah menggantikan Fail Rekod
Perubatan Pesakit cara konvensional kepada Rekod Elektronik Pesakit dimana setiap individu di Negara ini
akan mempunyai satu Rekod Elektronik Pesakit yang mengandungi maklumat dan sejarah perubatan yang
komprehensif menjadikannya Satu Pesakit, Satu Rekod atau “One Patient, One Record”. Inilah tujuan
utama Bru-HIMS ini diperkenalkan.
Satu Pesakit, Satu Rekod ini akan merupakan rekod penjagaan kesihatan bersepadu yang memfokus kepada
setiap individu. Ianya berupaya mengumpulkan semua maklumat klinikal yang relevan dari setiap
perjumpaan dan hasil pemereksaan pada seluruh sistem penjagaan kesihatan sepanjang hayat mereka ke
dalam satu rekod.

The Ministry of Health IT Team together with Bru-HIMS Project Change Team conducted the Roadshow II and Change Readiness Survey Roadshow
starting from 21st May 2012 until 12th June 2012. With the support of the respective Directors and Change Agents from all hospitals and health centers
the Bru-HIMS Change Readiness Survey was successfully carried out and the team managed to collect a total of 1,735 surveys.
The objectives of this roadshow were as follows:
To increase the awareness about Bru-HIMS especially those who
have missed out during previous roadshow;
To carry out user registration activity for registration purposes so
that end-users will be better prepared in accessing Bru-HIMS when
the system goes LIVE;
To promote and encourage the use of Government email activity so
that end-users will be more aware of government email facilities and
stay as active users of Bru-HIMS;
To better informed end-users about the follow-up events on the
progress of the project via newsletter which can be downloaded or
Unlike the previous road show, it was conducted to enable us to understand our end-users better and to know the current users awareness,
readiness on Bru-HIMS and also to formulate a guideline on users’ level of IT literacy.

Bru-HIMS 3rd Steering Committee Meeting was held on 3rd July 2012 at Ministry of Heath, Brunei Darussalam chaired by The Honourable Pehin
Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Adanan, Minister of Health. Members of the Steering Committee includes, Permanent
Secretary, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Administration & Finance), Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional & Technical), Director General of
Medical Services, Director General of Health Services, General Director, Director of Policy and Planning and Director of Administration and
Finance.
The main agenda discussed was on the roll out plan and milestones for Bru-HIMS roll out in Tutong
district. The various milestones are as such that there will be a more systematic transition for the
end-users and also a practical mixture of manual and electronic possesses during the transition.
In summary, there are 3 planned milestone activities and the breakdown are as follows:-
Milestone 1 (Targeted date : 26th July 2012)
To roll out the related Bru-HIMS modules that would mainly handle the Outpatient and A&E
services which includes Master Patient Registration, Visit Registration, Clinical access with
Electronic Patient Record & Clinical notes, Laboratory & Radiology electronic ordering and
processing, Pharmacy handling e-Prescription & drugs dispensing, Electronic management of
Medical Store & Pharmacy store and also Queue Management System to manage patient
queue at the Central Registration area and check-in counters at the various clinics.
The Billing module is partially used for capturing patient billing. Issuance of registration
coupons and receipts are still managed manually.
Milestone 2 (Targeted date : 12th August 2012)
For this milestone, the targeted area is the Inpatient services. In addition to all modules above:
o Patient can be admitted to the Hospital using Bru-HIMS;
o Comprehensive features for managing of Inpatient transfers, booking and waiting list,
discharges and patient billing with full record of the movement of the patient in the
hospital.
Milestone 3 (Targeted date : 30th August 2012)
To roll out Bru-HIMS at all health centers in Tutong districts. Bru-HIMS will be mainly used to
handle Patient Registrations, Visit Registrations, Clinical access with Electronic Patient Record
& Clinical notes, Pharmacy handling e-Prescription & drugs dispensing. The roll out is:
o Tutong Health Centre – 27th August 2012
o Telisai Health Centre – 28th August 2012
o Lamunin Health Centre – 29th August 2012
o Kelugos Health Centre – 30th August 2012
3rd STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING
This will mark an important milestone in Bru-HIMS implementation. The transition and stabilization
period will involve regular discussions and feedback sessions with Bru-HIMS Tutong Core Team,
Bru-HIMS Functional Leads and Bru-HIMS support team to ensure adoption of Bru-HIMS.
