Questions29 - 34 arc basedon the ollowing passage.

It took us nearly two hours to cross the choppy waters and reach PulauKawan. The bumboat was small and cramped, and the fear of capsizng haunted us. Wewould probably have reachedPulau Kawan if we had decidedto srvim across, but thecurrent was too strong for us. We seemed o have left the jetty ages&go,after a tiring waitfor the bumboat. There, weary and grumpy, we had grudgingly let the persistentmosquitoes easton our blood. Mau and Dino had quarrelled, and that left all of us in abad mood. The unbearableboat ride did not lift our spirits either. It was a hot and humidafternoon. Our shirts, wet with sweat, clung to our sticky bodies. The bumboat erkedalong, andI felt sick.

For one moment, I must confess that I regretted joining them on thisexpedition. t was a crazy deato want to campon Pulau Kawan. Everyoneknew that theisland was haunted;and on each Thursdaynight, all the ghosts and spirits would driftover the island.Of course,we had to choosea Thursday o go to the island. Mau, Dinoand Raja had senselessly lamoured o set off on our expeditionon T'hursday.Ju and Ihadviolently objected o that, but we wereoutnumbered, and in a democraticsociety ikeours, the majority had their way.

The sea was green and my face probably shared ts colour. Ju's ceaselessgrumblingswere starting o be aning, and I was irritated with Raja's tunelesswhistling.pulau Kawan seemed arther than usual.Though the islandcame nto view soon enough,it was a good long while beforewe finally reached he etty on the island. We steppedoffthe bumboatcarefully. Dino, however, lost his footing and,had it not beenfor Raja whodeftly reached out and grabbed his collar, he would have fallen into the sea. I hadsuffered enough of the jerky motion of the bumboat, and when I steppedonto solidgroundonceagain, promptly threw up, much to the disgustof everyone.
