    INTRODUCTION

    Program Serantai Jalinan Seutas Kasih is a program that focuses more toward future

    teacher to adapt the real situation in rural area and give exposure the environment in rural

    area to them in order to get experience before they go to school for practical.This program is

    prepare especially to final year student due to they must complete their semester by doing

    their practical session in school. In addition, we choose rural areas which lack of technology

    and facilities as place of our program because of to give them experience when they got a

    place after graduation. Furthermore, this program is one of bonuses for them in competing

    with other education graduates due intense competition between education graduates in the

    job market clearly shows that graduates who actually selected quality. Location that we

    proposeis Kampung Sungai Chiong Grik, Perak.Our groups decide to locate this program at

    that place because of the place lack of technology also facilities and most their societies are

    native society. Moreover, this program exposed to student education with problem event

    goes to posting in rural area. In this program, we choose to do six activity with relate with

    our objective. It is involved the activity like Follow Me, Kapal Karam, Perjalananku,

    Talent Time, and activity with Sg. Chiong society. The activity Follow Me and Kapal

    Karam is mean to achieve our objectiveto produce strengthens leadership skill.The activity

    of Perjalananku is achieving our objective to produce teachers to familiarize themselveswith all conditions. Another activity, Talent time, we want to see nurture positive values and

    behaviors within the teacher trainers. Next, activity with Sg Chiong society likemutual aid

    gotong-royongactivity and Klinik Pendidikan, we want to see the effective to developing

    the skills, knowledge and values about volunteerism through activities conducted. In this

    rural area, we meet Tok batinand he as our reference in there. Before we go to Kampung

    Sungai Chiong grik, we go to Majlis Daerah Perak Tengah for get permission to do this

    activity.This program is carrying out base on our interview and analysis toward alumni of

    Faculty Education which some of didnt adapt if they have posting in rural area. The

    program was attended by people 40students, 8 facilitator from (PMFP) and 2 escort lectures

    from science education program. This programs runs for three days two nights which

    organize by PMFP (Persatuan Mahasiswa Fakulti Pendidikan).

    1.0 RATIONALEThe rationale of this program is to give exposure to future teacher in real thing of the

    teaching areas especially in rural area which lack of infrastructure and technology. Besides,

    the program gives more practice and applies the knowledge that they have learnt along in

    their semester to our future teacher. In addition, this program can improve their skills in

    managing, student behavior and classroom and also how to construct question base on

    students understanding about some topic. Furthermore, this program was constructed to

    follow the objectives of our faculty education which to produce graduates that are

    knowledgeable and competent with strong understanding of fundamental of teaching and

    learning in their respective fields, able to adapt to and adopt from the local and global work

    environment and also able to lead based on experience and knowledge of contemporary

    development in education. Furthermore, the program will built our future teacher in aspect

    of leadership though to manage the program to be smooth and effective.

    2.0 THE CURRICULUM2.1Need analysis

    We do some research by using interview method among alumni of Faculty Of

    Education (UITM) in Shah Alam area.We do formal letter to get permission from the

    school principle around the secondary school in Shah Alam to interview our alumni.

    Our alumni that involve in this interview is teacher from SMK Section 16, SMK

    Bukit Jelutong, SMK Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, and SMK Section 24. The total

    teachers that we interviews are 50 people and we divide into 2 groups which 25

    ofthem are alumni Faculty of Education(UITM) which have more 5 years experience

    in school whereas another 25 which alumni recently get posting in the school. Theinterview was carrying out a two month before we apply permission to do program.

    In interview session, we ask them with five questions to our alumni of Faculty of

    Education (UITM).The question is;

    2.1.1 If teacher will be sent to school, which you prefer either rural area orurban area?

    Based on our question, mostly both group that we interview said that they

    much prefer to teach in urban area compare with rural area because they

    think they cannot survives with the life style in rural area. Whereas,

    certain of them said they feel culture shock when they get posting in rural

    area and need time to familiar with this environment.

    2.1.2 How can the teacher manage their emotion especially in rural area?More respondent thinks, they fail to manage their emotion if they posting

    in rural area. This is because they cant adapt with environment in rural

    area and add up with other problem like student problem and many more.

    2.1.3 What your opinion about volunteerism through activities in teachersperspective?

    Most of them which we interview said that they are less experience in

    involvingvolunteerism activity. So, they thinks as future teachers they

    should be train to involving in volunteerism activity because from the

    volunteerism activities can give advantage from handling their emotion,

    knowledge skills and value in handling volunteerism activity.

    2.1.4 Based on your experience, how long you take time to adapt withcommunity especially in rural areas.

    Most of the respondent says, they feel hard to get close and take long time

    to close with community during their posting time. This is because lack of

    activity between teachers and community. So, the future teacher should do

    more activity between future teacher and community.

    2.6CONTENTRefer to analysis that we have done before, we come out the activities which have

    follow to our objectives. We also analyze the flow of the activities.

    2.6.1 LDK 1: ICEBREAKINGTitle : Lembut Lidah

    Venue : Khemah Utama

    Date : 14 February 2014

    Time : 9.00 p.m10.00 p.m

    Materials : none

    Objectives:

    To form groups among participants so that the information of program is easyto deliver.

    To bridging the gap between participant and facilitator so they will feelcomfortable and create relationship with them to be more closely in thefuture.

    To form a group bonding and teamwork between the participants.Procedure:

    1. Participants will be given pieces of each picture.2. Participants require finding their team members based on the pictures and

    make up a complete picture piece.

    3.Next up the group.4. The facilitator will ask for your full name, nickname, home, hobbies,

    ambitions, etc., as appropriate.

    5. Participants require making a circle in their respective groups.6. A participant requires standing in the middle.

    7. Facilitator say one name member of the group, and participants should behitting the name that call soft, using a rolled up newspaper.

    8. All participants must be given the opportunity to stand in the middle and hitthe others until all the names have been mentioned.

    3.6.2 LDK 2 : FOLLOW ME

    Title : Follow Me

    Venue : Khemah Utama

    Date : 15 February 2014

    Time : 9.30 a.m10.45 a.m

    Materials : mah-jong papers, eggs and black cloths

    Objectives:

    1. To training leadership skills between the participants.2. Create a spirit of cooperation within the group.3. Build sense of leadership within the participants.4. To train participants to receive instruction from others and give clear

    instructions to others.

    5. Build self-confidence in participants to be more confident on intuition.Procedure:

    1. The participants gather in their respective groups.

    2. Each group was given a piece of mah-jong paper, an egg and a black cloth.

    3. Each group should choose a leader.

    4. All members of the group except for the leader close their eye by using black

    cloth.

    5. All participants except the group leader should hold mah-jong paper and put the

    egg on top of the paper.

    6. Participants are required to move from one place to another while holding mah-

    jong paper according to the instructions of the leader.

    7. During move, players are not allowed to talk to each member of the group.

    8. The leader, plays a role in the other direction to the participants brought to the

    egg will not break.

    9. The leader, are not allowed to use the right, left , front , and back to move and

    directions that must be changed according to the creativity of each group .

    10. The groups which manage to bring eggs safely be considered the winner.

    11. The groups which unsuccessfully are fail to manage their group.

    3.6.3 LDK 3 : KAPAL KARAM

    Title : Kapal Karam

    Venue : Khemah Utama

    Date : 15 February 2014

    Time : 11.00 p.m12.45 p.m

    Materials : straw, paper

    Objectives:

    1. As leaders, we are asserting whether qualified or not qualified to be a leader.

    2. Prepare to be a leader and holds great responsibility.

    Procedure:

    1. Participants are imaging that they are on a ship.

    2. Participants are giving the opportunity to have fun.

    3. Then, participants are told that the ship would have sunk their boat.

    4. Participants are request to make a circle.

    5. Participants are given a straw 2-5 each.

    6. Participants inform that only one boat can only accommodate boarded and just 5

    people.

    7. Participants are requested to stick to the one who deserves to be save base on criteria

    that belong to hope the person can make a significant contribution to the world.

    8. Say the name, then if you say anything worthy if not sorry, you're not worthy.

    9. Collect four players who managed to get a stick at most. Ask them to forward to speak

    to reciprocate the trust of other participants.

    3.6.4 LDK 4: PERJALANANKU

    Title : Perjalananku

    Venue : Area the village of Sg Chiong

    Date : 15 February 2014

    Time : 2.00 p.m5.30 p.m

    Materials :

    LDK 4 titled Perjalananku is the activity look like treasure hunt. These activities are

    carried out around area the village of Sg. Chiong. In addition, this activity will test the

    skills of the participants to solve the problems given and also give the participants to feel

    the experience live in rural area where deficit of technology. Participants are divided into

    groups and required to explore from one checkpoint another to search of hidden treasure.

    During exploration, participants will be tested with the testinvolves the mind, fitness and

    psychological durability.

    After finish, checkpoint keeper will give the idea where clue has hidden. After

    that, the checkpoint keeper will give the participants paper that contain next

    checkpoint to find other part treasure that lost. The participants need to answer

    questions that given.

    8) For the second checkpoint, the participants who arrive at second checkpoint

    will be given a task that they need to do physical test. This activity called water in

    the bottle which the participants need fill water into the bottle with their hand.

    After finish, the checkpoint keeper will give the participants paper that contain

    next checkpoint to find other part treasure that lost. The participants need to

    answer questions that given.

    9) For the third checkpoint, the participants arriving at the third checkpoint will

    carry out activities name (pulse game). The participants need to stand in a line and

    grasp the hands of other players. Items has put at the end of the line. Other

    participants are cant open their eyes except the participants are at the beginning

    and at the end. Checkpoint keeper will toss a coin silently and show to first

    participant. If " head " first participant will grasp hand of player stand beside and

    they repeat the same thing until the last participant. The last participant receives a

    signal of the hands and run as fast as possible to get the item that has place at the

    end of line. The checkpoint keeper record the time taken in each group. Marks

    will be deduct if the participants mistakenly see the "head " and " tail " of the

    coin. After completing the activity, checkpoint keeper will give an indication

    where the question paper hidden. After that, they will give a clue where the next

    checkpoint and the part of treasure that participants to find. They also need

    answer the question.

    10) For the fourth checkpoint the participants arriving at the fourth checkpointneed to this activities berakit - rakit ke tepian. The participants will be given the

    item to do a bamboo raft like bamboo, machetes and rope. When the raft

    complete, the raft use to cross the river to get a piece of paper with instructions

    where clues hidden treasure pieces from the facilitator.When the property is

    found, the time was recorded.

    11) For participants who arrive in this checkpoint, they need to do this activity

    which Sumpit Asli. Before the game start,the players will be told how to use

    blowpipe. The participants require to blowpipe towards the target of the balloon.

    After finish, checkpoint keeper will give an indication of which to found the

    clues.

    13) The facilitator will be the key of the treasure chests. For the first facilitator

    hold needle and thread. The facilitator asks participants to find key hidden

    treasure at surrounding area. Once found, the facilitator will give the treasure.

    14) For the second facilitator, a property that is available to them is a piece of

    cloth. The facilitator asks participants to find key hidden treasures around the

    area. Once found, the facilitator will hand over the thing.

    15) Once the treasure is found, participants need sew the fabric into a shirt.

    16) At the end of the activity, participants need hand over the answer sheetof the

    questions that have been answered at all checkpoints and the treasure has been

    found.

    17) The facilitator concluded the event and give conclusion.

    3.6.5 LDK 5: TALENT TIME

    Title : Talent Time

    Venue : Khemah utama

    Objectives:

    1. Cultivate cooperative spirit among members in the group.2. Get rid of the shame in front of a crowd.3. Train yourself facing a difficult situation.

    Procedure:

    1) Each group will be given the theme of the show and be requiring perform on a

    given theme.

    2) Presentation of participants shall include acting and singing. Participants are

    allowed to use their own creativity to the success of the show.

    3) There are 8 groups and each group was given 10 to 15 minutes for a

    presentation.

    4) At the end of the activity, the facilitator gives opinions and conclusions relate

    to the show that has done.

    3.6.6 Activity with Sg.Chiong community

    1. To inculcate character of volunteer in our future teacher.2. Creating the social integration between teacher trainers and local community

    Time : 10.30 p.m12.00 p.m

    Materials : mah-jong paper and marker

    Objectives:

    1. To give them experience how to handle students with vary of behavior.2. Inculcate character of volunteer in our future teacher3. Creating the social integration between teacher trainers and local community

    and society.

    Procedure:

    1. Every group LDK will get a group of children.2. They teach about simple learning like ABC and many more.

    3.7 METHODOLOGYIn this program is organized by Persatuan Mahasiswa Faculty of Education (PMFP)

    at Sg, Chiong Grik, Perak. We use some of method in this program.

    First method: We use interview as the way to get need analysis. We use interview

    session at certain school in area of Shah Alam. The result from discussion, we

    analyze by summarizing and highlighting the important point.

    Second method: We use questioner technique to evaluate effectiveness of the

    program carry out. The questioner was distributesquestioner paperto 40 participant

    at the end of day. The questioner consists of two parts while part one is

    demographic profile and for parts two is like rate scale. They must answer both

    parts.

    Third method: We use presentation for some of our activity. Every student divides

    into 8 groups. Each group will present the task that given to them where they give

    their opinion.

    Forth method: We use observation method when the participants observe how Sg.

    Chiong communities live their daily life.

    3.8EVALUATION

    To evaluate this program, we distribute the questionnaire to the students after

    finish our slot in this program. The questionnaire is about the programs that consist of

    evaluation item which focus on the five objectives. For part A, it is demographic

    profile, based on this part, we want to see their background family either they live in

    rural or urban area. Next, for the part B, we use likerat scale to access their emotion

    and feeling about rural area and the activity participate. After the student answer the

    questioner, we will consider their opinion as improvement on the next activity. In part

    B we give question to student wheatear they can adapted the environment in rural

    area or not. Besides that, we ask for their respond wheatear the activity give impart on

    their leadership or not. Other than that, we ask them whether they know what

    contribution they can give to the local community. In the part B, we ask them about

    their relationship with their adopted whether good or not.

    5.0CONCLUSION

    The planning of this program is hopefully can be implemented successfully because this

    proposal design are result from all entire group preparation including preparation before the

    program carry out and after that. So, hopefully, every student to be involved in this program will

    be able to appreciate the depth of the activities carried out and to strengthen the personality and

    character of a commendable or either teaching ethics in each of the future teacher. This is in line

    with the country to produce a noble teacher. In addition, there is hope that with these activities

    the students are involved in this activity should soon be ready to serve and contributing to, nation

    and our beloved country.

    Next, turn the social adventurous activities involving adopt family has given the student the

    opportunity to explore the lives of people in this village closer. This program gives valuable

    experience for students participants to be able to appreciate life as a child and explore a family's

    life in rural areas. Caring attitude and kind villager gladdened the hearts of the participants to

    feel the joy of living in the village. The given time period to be with a host family is very short

    limiting closer relationships can be establish. However, the program was able to build their

    communication skills and build self-esteem intact as future teachers who excel in the future.

    The program is also expected to build the physical body and the students to be better

    prepared and energetic in to do a job and to benefit themselves, their families, communities and

    countries. In addition, this program can teach students in enhancing students' skills such as

    management and leadership skills. Self and time management skills are very important to every

    soul that is within these students can appreciate every second that goes by in life. For example,

    this program teaches them to always be on time and be ready from scratch for each activity to beperformed. Leadership skills can also be obtained when dealing with an activity and a sense of

    responsibility inherent in each student. It is important for the teacher to student leaders and

    leadership essential to every prospective teacher. Finally, this program could be continued in the

    future and made part of subject for university curriculum for giving a lot of experience and the

    benefits for students before they are posting.
