Swing Compressor Advantages of Inverter technology

Low starting current

Reluctance DC motor for compressor

Inverter system ensures faster cooling with significant energy saving. Moreover, it helps to maintain consistent temperature in the room, makes you feel comfortable all the time especially when you are sleeping.

Daikin calls an inverter model that is equipped with a DC motor DC Inverter. A DC motor offers higher efficiency than an AC motor. A DC motor uses the power of magnets to attract and repel to generate rotation. A DC motor that is equipped with high-power neodynium magnets, which enables even greater efficiency, is called a Reluctance DC motor.

Thanks to its smooth rotation, the swing compressor decreases friction and vibration. It also prevents the leakage of refrigerant gas during compression. These advantages provide quiet and efficient operation.

Fixed speed (non-inverter) systems operate by compressor start-stop cycles which consumes more energy and have higher variance of the room temperature.

Taking the advantages of the ability to modulate the compressor speed, inverters are designed to operate with “soft start” feature. The compressor motor does not require high current during start up.

1. A neodymium magnet is approximately 10 times stronger than a standard ferrite magnet.2. The torque created by the change in power between the iron and magnet parts.3. The frequency range used by air conditioners during periods of stable operation. This is the range in which air conditioners operate for the longest periods.

Neodymium magnets are used in the pink-coloured area.

Daikin DC Inverter models are equipped with the Reluctance DC motor for compressors. The Reluctance DC motor uses 2 different types of torque, neodymium magnet¹ and reluctance torque². This motor saves energy by generating more power with a smaller electric current than AC or conventional DC motors. It is more efficient at the low frequencies most commonly used by air conditioners³, improving efficiency by approximately 20%.

The extended piping length promotes flexible installation

After quickly reaching set temperature, the inverter system constantly adjusts and fine-tunes the cooling capacity to prevent undesired temperature swings. Room comfort level is constantly maintained even when the number of people in the room increases or decreases.

Note: Additional refrigerant is required if the piping is longer than the pre-charge length. For details, kindly refer to the installation manual.

Titanium Apatite Photocatalytic Air Purifying Filter Stylish Flat Panel

Micron-scale fibers trap dust while titanium apatite absorbs organic contaminants such as bacteria and viruses. In addition, the titanium oxide is activated by natural light, allowing it to break down and eliminate odours. The filter effectively deactivates bacteria and viruses. It lasts for three years without replacement if washed about once every six months.

An ideal blend of style and functionality. The front panel is designed for contemporary style without compromising on function. Air intake area is designed to ensure smooth air flow profile for better sound quality and optimized volume.

Lower Sound LevelWith up to five selectable fan speeds, users are given more choices. By selecting Quiet mode, the sound pressure level can be reduced down to an unobtrusive 21dBA.

Sleep ModePressing the Sleep button activates the Sleep Mode. This function prevents excessive cooling for a pleasant sleep.

Auto Random Restart with Last-State-Memory

In the event of a sudden power failure during operation, unit restarts automatically in 64 different recovery timing patterns (within 180 seconds to 244 seconds) and the unit will operate based on the previous setting (operating mode, temperature setting and fan speed). This ensures that air conditioners in the same building resume randomly instead of all units resuming at the same time, preventing power surge after a blackout.

Powerful OperationPowerful Operation is activated by pressing the Turbo button. Once activated, the air conditioner will run on full power with indoor fan running at maximum speed for 20 minutes. This enables the set temperature to be achieved faster. If Turbo and Sleep mode timer will be reset, it will resume after Turbo function is cleared.

Anti-Corrosion Hydrophilic Gold FinThe outdoor unit’s heat exchanger fins are constructed from anticorrosion hydrophilic gold fin. The anticorrosion fin increases the life span of the heat exchanger, especially when operating under corrosive and harsh environment.
