Prakata

Laporan statistik ini ialah statistik keempat dihasilkan oleh Seksyen Perkhidmatan

Penyelidikan, Bahagian Perkhidmatan Penyelidikan & Maklumat, Perpustakaan Sultan Abdul

Samad, Universiti Putra Malaysia.

Pengumpulan data untuk penerbitan statistik ini telah dijalankan pada 26-29 Januari 2016.

Sumber data yang digunakan ialah data daripada pangkalan data Scopus yang diterbitkan

oleh Elsevier. Ia meliputi data penerbitan UPM yang diterbitkan bagi tahun 2010 hingga 2014.

Kata kunci yang digunakan dalam carian ialah "Universiti Putra Malaysia" yang dihadkan

kepada penerbitan tahun 2010-2014 sahaja.

Mudah-mudahan, laporan statistik ini akan membantu penyelidik mengetahui secara umum

prestasi penerbitan UPM.

Foreword

This report is the fourth statistical report to be published by the Research Services Section, Research & Information Services Division, Perpustakaan Sultan Abdul Samad, Universiti Putra Malaysia.

Data collection for this study was conducted on 26th-29th January 2016. The data sources used are from Scopus database published by Elsevier. It covers UPM publication data published in 2010 limiting to publications published in 2010-2014.

It is hoped, this statistical report will help researchers to understand in general the performance of UPM publication.

GLOSSARY

a. Petikan - Satu senarai rujukan atau bibliografi yang disebut oleh penulis, biasanya disenaraikan pada

akhir kerja. Istilah lain yang digunakan adalah rujukan.

a. Citation - A list of references or a bibliography cited by the author, usually listed at the end of work. Another term used is reference.

b. H-indeks - Jumlah petikan yang diterima oleh seorang pengarang berbanding jumlah penerbitan.

Sebagai contoh, H-indeks 3, bermakna 3 daripada penerbitan menerima sekurang-kurangnya tiga

petikan. H-indeks juga boleh digunakan untuk jurnal, institusi dan negara.

b. H-index - The number of citations received by an author compared to the number of publications. For example, H-index of 3, meaning 3 of the publications received at least three citations. H-index could also be used for journals, institutions and countries.

c. Scopus - pangkalan data pengindeksan yang meliputi pelbagai bidang dan data. Penerbitan termasuk

artikel, kertas persidangan, artikel dalam proses penerbitan, ulasan, nota, surat dan bahan editorial.

c. Scopus - indexing database that covers various fields and data. Publications include the article, conference paper, article in press, reviews, notes, letter and editorial material.

d. Petikan / Ahli Akademik - Purata bilangan petikan yang diterima oleh seorang ahli akademik di

institusi.

d. Citations / Academician - The average number of citations received by an academic in an institution.

e. Petikan / Rekod - Purata bilangan petikan yang diterima oleh rekod penerbitan dalam sebuah

institusi.

e. Citations / Record - The average number of citations received by a record of publications in an institution.

f. Rekod / Ahli Akademik - Purata bilangan rekod ahli akademik di institusi.

f. Records / Academician - The average number of records of a member of an academic in an institution.
