THE KUALA LUMPUR CUPStarted in 2016, the KL Cup is an international youth football tournament held in Kuala

Lumpur, Malaysia. Targetted at competitive junior teams from across the region, the cup aims to improve the opportunities for high quality inter-club football in Southeast Asia.

ABOUT THE CUPOpen to teams in five age-groups (Under-8, 10, 12, 14, 16), the KL Cup will take place at the

KLFA Football Centre and The New Camp – two fantastic football facilities just 20 minutes from the centre of Kuala Lumpur.

Organised by Little League Soccer Malaysia, the tournament promises two days of exciting football action at some of the region’s premier pitches.

THE VENUESKLFA FOOTBALL CENTRE, DESA MELAWATILocated on the northeastern side of Kuala Lumpur, the KLFA Football Centre at Desa Melawati is a true city centre football haven. Featuring a flagship FIFA 2 Star 4G astroturf pitch with floodlights as well as a FIFA-spec futsal court, it attracts national squads, professional teams and thousands of amateur footballers every month.

The KLFA Football Centre is also capable of hosting up to 100 guests in comfortable, modern dormitories with visitor amentities such as a cafe, gymnasium, players lounge and physio room.

COMPETITION FORMAT

The Kuala Lumpur Cup will follow a Champions League style format of group stages followed byCup and Plate competitions.

Proposed rules and guidelines:• 16 teams per age-group• 4 groups of 4 teams in group stages; top 2 qualify for Cup, bottom 2 qualify for Plate• All teams guaranteed 6 matches (3 matches per day)• 5-a-side for Under-8s; 7-a-side for Under-10s, 12s, 14s and 16s• Games last 24 minutes (2 x 12 minutes)

*All Age-Group Package applicable to academies and clubs entering teams in all five tournament age-groups.

Competition fees include match costs, pitch rental, referee fees, a team tent/marquee plus one box of mineral water for each match day. Fees do not cover transport or accommodation costs.

Though the Kuala Lumpur Cup competition fees do not include transport and accommodation, the tournament organiser is able to offer tailored packages where required.
