HANDS-ON CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
The Students will be given formal lessons by qualified Instructors to experience various hands-on activities; Skiing, kendo, tea-ceremony, pottery making, Japan train experience, pa-permaking and others of similar na-ture. Japan largest travel network and currently 4th biggest travel operator based on revenue, JTB Japan Travel Bureau was incorporated in Tokyo more than 100 years ago. In Malaysia, JTB presence was established more than 20 years ago and currently the No.1 Japan Inbound operator & Top 5 Outbound operator and the sole operator of Japan Educational Excursion in Malaysia, to date. Having handled 10,000 incoming Japanese students yearly, JTB first introduced in 2004 the Malaysian version of its Educational Trip to Japan-with the initial aim of giving opportunity to the Malaysian students to visit their Japanese counterpart. It was also designed to offer a truly Japa-nese-styled pure Educational content in nature with strict students monitoring. It has since evolved to include elaborate school visit program, rare site inspection & workshops which require appointments and hands-on experience.
Why JTB Educational Program Different from the rest ? Reliability Factor Back by a multinational premier travel network, Japan Travel Bureau (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, have continuously handled incoming Japanese Schools under the cultural exchange program (endorsed by M.O.E) for more than 20 years. In return, JTB has successfully arranged outgoing trips to Ja-pan for Malaysian schools for the past 7 years. Japan school arrangements is through Japan State Governments educational arm. Should an emergency occur, both JTB Japan & JTB Malaysia will activate our Standard-Operating-Procedure to handle crisis management.
Student Handling Factor JTB incorporates Japanese-styled management approach where safety, quality and accountability are placed as its utmost importance. Only reliable airlines, strategically located hotels, quality food (which cater for various religion) and insured coach will be arranged. On safety measures, 1 Adult: 10 students ratio, different hotel floors by genders, night curfew, room spot-checks, disable pay-per view, hotel lobby guardian will be strictly observed. 2 Japanese-speaking JTB Program Coordinators will be involved through-out the program.
Educational Factor The itinerary is 100% customized, its content and logistics formulated towards Educational in nature, and is totally incomparable with other itineraries found in the general leisure market. Program Module focuses 3 elements; Official School Visit, Educational Workshops, Hands-on Experience. These areas requires formal appointments and some requires Japan State Government involvement. In addition, our Program Managers will inject Japan educational learning values through-out guiding the trip. Recently, JTB has began incorporating Ministry of Educa-tions PBS module where students will be assigned and undertake PBS related activity as well as focusing the Malaysian school niche-area study during its Japan school visit. Certificate of Participation will also be issued by JTB for this purpose.
Financial Rebates & Upgrading Factor Japan State Govt. has acknowledged JTB efforts in bridging Malaysia and Japan closer through educational trips and has allocated a Fund with the objective to lower the expenses without comprising on its comfort, security and content. In addition, JTB on its own efforts has applied various student rebates for its ground services, remove any hidden costs or tipping (which normally associate with Adult trip) where only students pocket money and some meals needs to be added. In some occasions (as proven before), JTB has upgraded the flight, hotel, added extra night, extra meals at our expense when more financial aid is made available.
Additional Services Factor JTB prepares the students in embracing Japan by offering basic Japanese Language lessons & Homestay cultural tips and provide Japanese translation & interpretation during school visits. To further calm parents anxiety, JTB will upload a series of photos cum report featuring the student activities through-out the day onto its nightly blog for viewing purpose. In case of communication, parents are welcomed to contact JTB mobile phones which will be on 24-hours basis. Muslim students can be rest assured that 1 of JTB Program Managers is a Muslim and food arrangement will be seriously taken into account and prayer time observed.
Dear Principals, Teachers & Parents,
School Educational Trip in Malaysia has grown over the years and despite being a school-sanction official event, we have seen many instances where its trip content nor its handling is un-educational in nature. It borders adult leisure tours with the sole objective of shopping and sightseeing.
There was an urgent need to introduce a comprehensive content that truly benefits the school and its students and most importantly, its student handling, which must secure parents confidence and support.
In 2004, JTB has formulated a program to serve that purpose and 9 years later, it has since evolved into a powerful educational tool that has at-tracted participation from the Private & Government Schools and the Higher Institutions. We invite you to read on and support this program.
