What is ethics?

Beda etika (ethics) & etiket (etiquette)??

= moral

Boleh /tidak suatu perbuatan

Tetap berlaku walau tidak ada saksi mata, berawal dari dalam diri

Bersifat absolut, lebih universal

Manusia memandang dirinya secara lebih mendalam/batiniah (refleksi)

= tata-krama/ sopan santun

Cara (manner) suatu perbuatan hrs dilakukan

Hanya berlaku dalam pergaulan

Bersifat relatif; tidak sopan di suatu komunitas bisa jadi sopan di komunitas lain

Manusia memandang dirinya dari aspek lahiriahnya saja

Definisi Moral

Should we separate ethics and morality?

Unethical (tidak etis)? Immoral (amoral)?

Morals define personal character, while ethics stress a social system in which those morals are applied.

In other words, ethics point to standards or codes of behavior expected by the group to which the individual belongs.

Ethics is the philosophical study of morality.

The word is also commonly used interchangeably with 'morality' to mean the subject matter of this study;
