The 2019 Annual General Meeting is scheduled to be held on Saturday, 13th April 2019 at Clubhouse, Kenanga Room. Meeting will commence at 4.30pm. Please note that the Hi-Tea is available before the meeting. This is followed by dinner with our in-house live band performance in the evening. The notice for AGM will be posted on the Club notice board and website. The AOB and Rule Amendment are obtainable from the website. Other documentation will be posted and emailed in March. Your attendance, support and input of ideas at the AGM would be greatly appreciated.

Chinese New Year Lion Dance Celebration On 17th February 2019, Sunday, RSYC had invited a group of youths from Hin Hua School, Klang to perform a lion dance in line with Chinese New Year month with special appearance by ‘God of Fortune’. The celebration was followed by a traditional Yee Sang tossing session. The RSYC committee members, past commodores and other club members attended this special occasion and all received red envelopes for good luck. The management wishes all club members Good Fortune, Prosperity and Longevity!

F&B on Weekends The View Terrace Restaurant of RSYC is open for breakfast from 8am to 11am only on weekends and public holidays. Hawker style food will also be made available on weekends and public holidays soon. For further information, please contact the F&B team directly.

Member’s Credit Limit The credit limit in each member’s account is RM1,500. If you exceeded your credit limit, the additional amount in your function bill will be issued and you are required to settle the differences at the bar cashier. The club has installed a credit card terminal at the bar to receive payments. All function arrangements to be discussed directly with the caterer. Bills incurred during the function to be paid directly to the caterer.

Festival of Sails Geelong Australia 2019 - 26th to 28th January 2019

RSYC, recently participated in an international regatta with other 300 fleets in the sailing race. There was exchange of burgee between RSYC Mr Jeff Harris (RMSIR Chairman), Mr John Rajoo (Committee Member) and Royal Geelong Yacht Club Commodore – Mr John Kint. We look forward to the Australian crew participation in the upcoming 30th Raja Muda Selangor International Regatta in November 2019.

Subic Yacht Club, Philippines

In January 2019, the RSYC Commodore, Mr Jeffrey Voon and past commodore Dato’ Alex Nah and members made a courtesy visit to Subic Yacht Club to meet the club members for reciprocal networking. There was an exchange of burgee between the two clubs. We look forward to Subic Yacht Club members visit to RSYC in the near future.

Novice Sailing Regatta Activity 2019 (First Session)

The first session of Novice Sailing Regattas was held on Saturday, 23rd February 2019. It was an open sailing day regatta for guest participants and club regular sailors. In total, 40 participants signed up. They were grouped with 8 experienced skippers and their crew assistants. The sailing race ended around 4pm in the evening. Snacks and drinks were served. The RSYC management would like to thank all participants and club members for their assistance during the event. There is another session which will be held on Sunday, 10th March 2019. So, do come and register with us to book your spots. For further details, kindly refer to the latest sailing calendar that is currently available at the RSYC official website.

Sunset Cabin

The idea of having a lounge overlooking the river during sunset was mooted several years ago. The newly constructed ‘Sunset Cabin’ is now ready. It is an added facility for members. The Cabin provides relaxed atmosphere and ambience. Members can enjoy a picturesque view of river and its activities with boats berthed at our pontoons while admiring the wonders of sunset.

Landscape and Grounds Maintenance

The Club main entrance had undergone a ‘facelift. The landscape has been upgraded and completed with new lightings and add-ons plants. It enhances the natural beauty of the area, improves the club image and gives an impression of a warm welcoming feeling to Club members and visitors.

Club Members Kids Sailing Open Day

The sailing committee would like to call upon all club members to bring along their children aged 8 – 14 years to a free Dinghy Sailing Open Day. It will be held on Sunday, 31st March 2019 from 1pm till 5pm. The event’s objective is to encourage more young sailors to try out dinghy sailing and then join our Junior and Youth Sailing Program (details available on the club website.) During the open day, children will be given brief details of both the theory and practice of sailing. This will be conducted by the Club’s qualified sail training staff. The children should come wearing hats and encouraged to apply sunscreen. Do feel free to contact our office event personnel or email to admin@rsyc.com.my for further information.
