Food test Diagram
1 Starch
Put a little starch solution in a test tube as shown
in the diagram on the right.
Add a few drops of iodine solution in a test tube.

2 Glucose
Put a little glucose solution in a test tube.
Add a few drops of Benedict’s solution.
Heat the test tube and its contents in a water bath
as shown in the diagram.
3 Protein
Put a little albumen solution in a test tube.
Add a few drops of Million reagent.
Heat the test tube in a water bath as shown in the
diagram.
4 Fat
Add one drop of cooking oil onto a piece of filter
paper.
Heat the filter paper with the oil over a Bunsen
burner.
