General Terms & Conditions For All INTIScholarships And Bursaries (Award)( Excludes Financial Aid )

Eligibility Requirements1) The award, unless specifically indicated, are open to Malaysian citizens only.2) Applicant must only use the latest (current year) official result to apply for all INTI

awards with the exception of the following:-i) INTI Chairman Award, INTI Secondary School Teacher Recognition Award and INTI

Family Loyalty Awardii) O-Level / A-Level qualification has validity of 1 year for INTI scholarship application

purposes.iii) the official exam results have not been released.

3) Meeting the minimum criteria does not automatically guarantee the applicant ascholarship. It subjects to quota set by individual INTI campuses.

4) The applicant must fulfill the academic requirements, which varies from the type ofaward indicated below.

5) The applicant is entitled to only ONE of the awards mentioned below and the awardwith the highest quantum will automatically apply:-

(i) INTI Scholarship / INTI e-Scholarship; or(ii) INTI Bursaries; or(iii) INTI Edu-Assist financial aid.6) For further information on Edu-Assist, please refer to the Edu-Assist terms and

conditions.

Application Process & Supporting Documents1) The applicant must complete the enclosed application form together with a copy of

the following documents:(i) official exam results of the most recent examination; or(ii) trial exam / forecast results duly certified by the school principal - where the official

exam results have not been released.(iii) parents proof of income Last 2 years EA Form / Salary slips for 3 months, and last 2

years income tax form Form B/ Form BE (for INTI X-Cellence Award and INTI Tertiary

Scholarship)2) An applicant submitting the certified trial exam/forecast results should be informedthat:

(i) the award will only be granted if the 2013 SPM trial exam / 2013 SPM forecast resultmeets the e ligibility requirements;

(ii) applicants who applied using their trial exam/forecast results may not automatically beentitled to be upgraded to an award of higher quantum if the official result is betterthan the trial exam/forecast result submitted earlier;

(iii) upon a written request received and subject to budget availability and approval, theapplicant may be upgraded to an award of a higher quantum if the official result isbetter than the trial exam/ forecast result submitted earlier. The scholarship upgrade isbased on the scholarship scheme for April 2014 intake.

(iv) applicants who applied using trial exam/forecast results will not have their awarddowngraded to a lower quantum award even if the official result is lower than the trialexam/forecast results submitted earlier provided:-1) the official results meet the minimum requirement of 5As (not including A-) in SPM,

except for Foundation / Diploma category, which required 3As (not including A-) inSPM.

2) the official results meet the 10As (not including A-) in SPM for those 100%scholarship recipients. Failing to meet the requirement, the scholarship amount willbe adjusted according to the SPM official results. The scholarship adjustment isbased on the scholarship scheme for April 2014 intake.

(v) where the applicants official results do not meet the requirements mentioned above in2 (iv) (1),the applicant will not be entitled to enjoy the award. The Scholarship amountdisbursed in the first semester need not be returned but the scholarship will no longerbe applicable to the programme he/she is currently enrolled in.

(vi) 100% scholarship recipients will have to pay part of the first semester tuition fees ofRM2,000. The reimbursement of the RM2,000 will be done in July 2014.

(vii) The reimbursement for the partial tuition fees RM2,000 of the first semester fees willbe forfeited if the applicant withdraws from the programme before the reimbursementdate.

3) Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.

Scope of the Award1) The award is only applicable to payment of tuition fees.2) In the event the scholarship amount exceeds the total amount payable as tuition fees,

the sum payable for tuition fee would be equivalent to the scholarship amount.3) The award is only valid for the programme in which the applicant has enrolled in and

for the applicants duration of study at the INTI campuses in Malaysia. In the event theapplicant changes programme or transfers to another INTI campus in Malaysia, thescholarship may be terminated, subject to the approval of INTI.

4) The award is disbursed based on the length of the semester (short/long), courseload/credits/subjects. The award for A Level is only applicable to 3 subjects, whereasthe award for American Degree Programs covers the first 30 credit hours and theaward for diploma programmes is only applicable to the first year of studies.

Non-application of the Award1) The award is NOT exchangeable for cash or other alternatives.2) The award is exclusive of other fees and charges such as application, registration,

resource, assessment and franchise fees to partner university (where applicable), all ofwhich must be borne by the successful applicant.

3) The award is not transferable within INTI campuses which are a part of the INTIInternational University and Colleges network. A request for transfer is subject to theapproval of INTI.

4) The award is not applicable to the applicants period of study at overseas partneruniversities or participation at any semester abroad programme.

Obligation of the Award Recipient1) Once awarded, the recipient must be enrolled as a full-time student and must continue

to be a student at INTI for the duration of the programme.2) The award recipient is responsible to :-

(i) make timely payment of fees in line with INTI policies and procedures, failing whichINTI reserves the right to take necessary action, including suspension/termination of theaward. Reinstatement of the award is also subject to the discretion of INTI;

(ii) comply with all applicable rules and regulations stipulated by INTI;(iii) maintain the required academic achievement, failing which the award may be

suspended for the subsequent semester. In such an event, the recipient must pay thefull tuition fee to continue with the course in the semester where the award issuspended (Suspended Semester). There will be no refund of fees paid by thestudent for the Suspended Semester. The award may be reinstated for the subsequentsemester provided that the award is still valid, failing which the award will be deemedterminated;

(iv) take part in student activities or community projects specified by INTI and whererequired;

(v) contribute up to a maximum of 40 hours per year of their time to assist INTI inmarketing and promotional activities, peer counseling, extracurricular activities, andother administration work as notified by INTI. Failure to comply with such requestswithout reason/s acceptable to INTI may result in suspension or termination of theaward/ scholarship.

Termination of Award and Other Important Notices1) The award will be terminated upon completion of the normal prescribed study period

of the programme enrolled in and will not extend to any additional period includingresit(s), semester abroad programmes.

2) The available awards are limited and vary depending on the individual INTI campus.Hence, interested and eligible applicants are encouraged to apply early.

3) INTI reserves the right to terminate the award if the applicant does not comply with the

rules and regulations stipulated by INTI, including the terms and conditions mentionedherein.

4) The above constitute the general terms and conditions for all INTI Scholarships andBursaries. INTI reserves the rights to change these terms and conditions and willcommunicate all notices of such change to the applicants by any means including thefollowing; electronic mail communication to the email address on record, publicationon a prominent site of the college/university notice board or INTI website.

5) All decisions made by INTI are final and binding.

defined by the Federal Constitution S160(2), S161A(6)(7)+(6)(b), Aboriginal PeoplesAct 1954 (Act 134) and Government Agencies.

2) The Bumiputera applicant in receipt of other award/scholarship/bursary (except forPTPTN Loan Schemes) from other private and/or government organizations shall not beeligible for this scholarship.

3) The award is only available for studies at INTI campuses located in West Malaysia.4) Award recipient must achieve and maintain the following academic requirements to

continue enjoying the award:-- Full passes in all subjects and the applicable GPA/required average below:

identification document as proof.

G) INTI Family Loyalty Award1) The applicant must submit a certified true copy of: (i) Birth certificates of student and sibling (ii) Alumnis official certificate or examination result(s) from INTI.
