Former Congress MP from Vijayawada Lagadapati Rajagopal who became popular for his ‘pepper spray’

use in Parliament during introduction of AP state reorganisation bill, speaking to media said the residual

state of Andhra Pradesh should be named as Telugunaadu and not be remained as Andhra Pradesh.

Lagadapati who did political sanyas after Telangana bill was passed in Parliament, spoke to media after

casting his vote yesterday at Janasikhana Sansthan, Mogalrajapuram, Vijayawada. He said the coming

Government in the new state should get funds from Union Government for the development of the state

as it is having deficit budget of Rs 10000 crs.

He made it clear that he is not associated with former CM Kiran Kumar Reddy’s Jai Samaikyandhra

Party. He said Jai samaikyandhra movement is unity of people and it has nothing to do with the party. He

said he will never come into politics again.
