O SPregabalin overdose
Tonic-clonic seizure: case reportA 54-year-old woman developed tonic-clonic seizure after
administering an overdose of pregabalin.The woman presented after ingesting 51 × pregabalin 75mg
tablets (3825mg). She was alert and conscious on arrival, yetobtundation rapidly ensued with response solely to deepsternal rub. She experienced a tonic-clonic seizure at around10 hours after overdosing; right gaze deviation and involuntarymouth movements with foaming were also noted. The self-limiting seizure persisted for around 1 minute after whichobtundation returned.
Lorazepam was initiated with supportive therapy; thewoman regained baseline mental status, a few hours later. Herpregabalin concentration was 58 µg/mL, at around 5 hoursafter overdosing.
Author comment: "To our knowledge, this is the first caseof a seizure associated with isolated pregabalin overdose.
