MEKANISME KAWALAN PERNAFASAN DAN PERANAN KEMORESEPTOR
ERMA VERONIKA HARIYONOLEWELL PAULUS
Mekanisme kawalan pernafasan?
Role of chemoreceptor in controlling breathing
• Breathing controlled by the carbon dioxide concentration in the blood.
• Chemoreceptors in the respiratory centre are sensitive to CO2 concentration.
• When concentration of CO2 increase, the respiratory centre is stimulated to increase alveolar ventilation.
• Inspiratory centre sent the impulses to the diaphragm and outer intercoastals muscles through the efferent nerve causing the lungs to expand.
• As the lungs expand, the alveolus inflates. • The inflation of the alveolus stimulated the
stretch receptors that will send the impulses to the expiratory centre.
• expiratory centre is stimulated and Inspiratory centre is inhibited.
• When the stretch receptors are not stimulated, expiratory centre becomes inactive and the inspiration takes place.
