Inviting and its response (Ungkapan ajakan/undangan dan responsnya) Ungkapan mengajak/mengundang (inviting) digunakan untuk mengajak melakukan sesuatu/mengundang ke suatu tempat kejadian. Ungkapan ajakan umumnya dinyatakan dengan: Let’s + V base/be+……… Contoh : - Let’s speak English! - Let’s sing a pop song! - Let’s be happy! - Let’s be smart! Ungkapan ajakan/undangan dapat juga disertai dengan bentuk penegasan (Question Tag) Contoh : - A : Let’s go to the beach, shall we? B : That’s a good idea. - A : Let’s be happy, shall we? Ungkapan mengundang dapat juga sebagai berikut: - I’d like to invite you to my birthday party. - Would you like to attend the meeting? - I wonder if you’d like to come to my wedding party. Ungkapan mengajak/mengundang (inviting) digunakan untuk mengajak melakukan sesuatu/mengundang ke suatu tempat kejadian.

    Ungkapan ajakan umumnya dinyatakan dengan:

Contoh :

-          Let’s speak English!

    Ungkapan ajakan/undangan dapat juga disertai dengan bentuk penegasan (Question Tag)

Contoh :

-          A : Let’s go to the beach, shall we?

B : That’s a good idea.

-          A : Let’s be happy, shall we?

B : all right.

    Ungkapan mengundang dapat juga sebagai berikut:

-          I’d like to invite you to my birthday party.

-          Would you like to attend the meeting?

-          I wonder  if you’d like to come to my wedding party.

    Respons undangan/ajakan.

Contoh :

Menerima undangan/ajakan :

-          All right.

-          I’d love to.

-          I’d be happy/glad to accept.

-          Yes, I’d be delighted to.

-          Yes, that would be nice.

Menerima undangan/ajakan :

-          I’m sorry I can’t

-          I’d like to very much, but…….

-          I am afraid I can’t

-          No, let’s not

-          I’d like to, but I can’t

    6. Expressing surprise (ungkapan terkejut)

Untuk mengungkapkan terkejut (Surprise), kita dapat menggunakan kata seru

    7. Expressing for and giving opinion (Ungkapan meminta dan member pendapat)

Contoh :

-          What do you think of the Corr’s song?

-          How about the test?

    Ungkapan untuk member sebuah pendapat (giving opinion)

-          In my opinion. Vita is a smart girl

-          I think that this poem is good.

-          I really think that this game is interesting.

-          It seems to me that Novita has good voice.

    8. Expressing argument disagreement (ungkapan setuju/tidak setuju)

Ungkapan setuju/tidak setuju (Expressing argument disagreement) digunakan untuk

menyatakan apakah seseorang se Expressing argument disagreement setuju/tidak setuju atas sebuah idea tau opini dari orang lain.

    Ungkapan setuju (expressing agreement)

Contoh :

-          I agree with her opinion.

-          I can go along with that

-          I think so

-          That’s what I want to say

-          I’m with you

-          I’m on your/his side

-          I buy that idea.

    Ungkapan tidak setuju (expressing disagreement)

Contoh:

-          I disagree with you.

-          I can’t go along with you.

-          I don’t think so.

-          I wouldn’t say that.

Edo : What are you guys doing tonight? 

Andi : Haven't thought about it

Candra : I'm not up into anything, yet. Why?

Edo: How about you, Sarah?

Sarah : Nothing special. Go home and relax, I guess.

Edo : Let's go see a movie tonight.

Andi : That's good idea.

Candra : Count me in. How about you, Sarah?

Sarah : I'm afraid I can't. I have to get up very early in the morning to pick up a client at the airport. Maybe some other time.

Edo. That's so bad. But Sarah, I think it would be great for you. Because good movie will show tonight. I believe you will like it.

Andi : That's right Sarah.

Candra : Yeah, It will not be great without you.

1. Menanyakan waktu luangDalam menanyakan waktu luang, anda bisa menggunakan ungkapan-ungkapan sebagai berikut:a. What are you guys doing tonight? arti = Apa yang kamu akan lakukan malam ini?

b. Are you free this afternoon? arti = Apakah kamu bebas sore ini?c. Do you have any plans for the weekend? arti = Apakah kamu sudah punya rencana untuk akhir pekan?d. What are you up to tonight? = Apa yang kamu akan kerjakan malam ini?

2. Menjawab pertanyaan mengenai waktu luangDalam menjawab pertanyaan mengenai waktu luant,anda bisa menggunakan ungkapan-ungkapan sebagai berikut:a. Nothing special. arti = Tidak ada yang special b. I am free this afternoon. arti = Saya bebas sore ini.c. Haven't thought about it. arti = Belum memikirkannya tuh.d. I'm not up into anything. arti = Saya tidak mengerjakan apa-apa.

3. MengajakDalam mengajak, anda bisa menggunakan ungkapan-ungkapan sebagai berikut:a. Let's go see movie tonight. arti = Ayo pergi nonton malam ini.b. How about to go to beach? arti = Bagaimana kalau pergi ke pantai?c. Do you want to wall-climbing next weekend? arti = Apakah kamu ingin panjat tebing minggu depan?d. 4. Menjawab ajakanDalam menjawab ajakan, anda bisa menggunakan ungkapan-ungkapan sebagai berikut:a. That's great idea. arti = Ide bagus.

6. Membujuk untuk ikutDalam membujuk untuk ikut, anda bisa menggunakan ungkapan-ungkapan sebagai berikut:a. It will not be great without you. arti = Ini tidak akan bagus tanap kamu.b. Oh, come on. It'll be great. arti = Oh, ayo lah. Ini akan sangat bagus.c. I'm sure you will like this. arti = Saya yakin kamu akan suka ini.
