Term Definition
Payment in advance Budget billing amount according to the budget billing plan. It is paid before the utility company hasrendered services.
Payment lot A Payment Lot is a group of payments received from customers that are processed together.
Payment record Data record showing the reason for every payment activity
Payment settlement Automatic account balancing whereby debit items are collected, credit items are deposited, and in certaincases individual open items are settled.
Payment type Breakdown of payment records into categories
Period lengthValue which, in conjunction with the period category, controls the length of a billing or meter readingperiod.
Period-end bill ingFurther billing at the end of a period whereby the customer is billed for the closed period, e.g. bybackbilling.
Period-end billing schema Schema containing the steps needed for a period-end billing.
Periodic billing
Consumption billing which is performed in regular intervals. The scheduling function determines the timesequence of this billing process. The following are examples of periodic billing: annual consumptionbilling, monthly billing, and bi-monthly billing
Periodic consumptionWater consumed in a certain period, for example in a meter reading period, used for meter readingestimation or validation purposes
Periodic replacement Replacement of devices which must be replaced as required by law or other rules.Plausible meter readingresults Meter Reading results that pass validation when they are uploaded into CCS and are billed to customers.
Political entity Element of the political regional structure, e.g. a county.
Portion A group of contracts that the user wants to bill together. Used as master data to generate all relatedschedule records.
Positive disp lacementmeter A water meter used in normal and low-flow conditions
Potable water Water of sufficient quality to serve as drinking water
Premise A single "unit" that is supplied with utility. Allocated to a connection object and has the same address asthe connection object. Can include several installations to be billed and can have several divisions.
Print To send a report of document to a printer.
Prorate The increase or decrease in consumption or pricing due to short or long bill
Quantity-based price Price which is not related to time but to quantity, such as water price ($/hcf).
